Cathay Pacific Airlines Bringing Pets On Board Fees.




On flights with a weight concept, the cost of excess baggage is calculated per kilogram using standard rates. If the total weight of the pet is up to 50 lbs. (23 kg) and its total size is up to 158 cm (62 in.), the additional baggage charge for each piece on piece concept flight is doubled. For each limit up to 70 lbs/208 cm/80 in that is exceeded, an additional fee of USD 150 applies. A 4x per piece fee will apply if the combined weight of the pet and its carrier is more than 70 lbs/ 32 kg and 203 cm/80 in.

There is a fee of $150 per piece for bags up to 32kg (over 23kg in Economy and over 25kg in Premium Economy), including bags that are covered by the free baggage allowance. For all classes, bags 62 inches (158 cm) or longer and up to 80 inches (203 cm) are $150 each.

Excess Baggage Charges

Calculation of excess baggage charges depends on Cathay Pacific flight zones.

In case of excess baggage weight, the excess charges would be USD 100 for Premium Economy travelers if the free weight is more than 25 kg but less than 32 kg. It will be USD 100 for Economy travelers if the luggage weighs more than 23 kg and less than 32 kg. In cases of oversized luggage, USD 100 per piece is charged if the dimension is greater than 158 cm but less than 203 cm in all classes. If the baggage weighs more than 32 kg or 203 cm, the charge is 4 times the additional baggage fee per piece.




These bags will have a maximum weight of 23 kg or 158 cm.

Overweight baggage fee (23kg to 32kg): NZD 200 / HKD 1300

Large size fee (158cm to 203cm): NZD 200/HKD 1,300 per piece.

To determine the baggage allowance in cases where connecting flights of other airlines are involved, the Major Airline rule will apply (as of April 1, 2015).

Forbidden items in your hand luggage with Cathay Pacific

For security reasons, some items are not allowed in your carry-on luggage with Cathay Pacific. In fact, if you don’t want to lose your items, follow the following rules.

First of all, for a few years now you cannot travel with liquids in a container larger than 3.4 ounces or 100 ml in the airplane cabin. Additionally, all containers must be in a resealable plastic bag. All these containers must not exceed one liter.
