“Arcadian” commences with Paul escaping from what appears to be the collapse of civilization, depicted by sirens and explosions muffled in the background noise, far away. Taking refuge in a secluded spot, he holds two infant twin boys. Fast forward fifteen years, Paul resides with his teenage sons Joseph and Thomas. The audience meets these characters during a tense moment as Thomas has not come back from the nearby Rose Farm, and dusk is approaching. Evidently, individuals prefer not to be outside after dark.
